Dr. Mary Kelley
Dr. Mary Ann Kelley has been teaching for over 25 years and has been working in nursing for over 30 years. She received her BSN from Mississippi University for Women, Columbus, MS in 1983; her MSN from University of Mississippi at the Medical Center in Maternal-Newborn Clinical Nurse Specialty in 1989; and her PhD from University of Alabama at Birmingham in nursing education in 2002. Dr. Kelley has taught at a community college, liberal arts college, and a major university. She has worked in many areas of the healthcare system, including medical-surgical, women’s health, maternity, orthopedics, surgical, pediatrics, endoscopy, geriatrics, and emergency medicine. Her research interests include maternity, women’s health, health promotion, minority health, health disparities in under-served, minority populations; and early detection of breast cancer. Dr. Kelley has received several grants to examine church based breast health educational programs in rural Alabama and Mississippi.
